Bird

Every channel your customers use, moving as one.

Customers read email, reply on WhatsApp, act on a text and still pick up the phone. Bird brings those channels into one platform, with its own email infrastructure, direct carrier connections and official WhatsApp Business access. We set Bird up so your messages, audiences and automations work together, then run it so every message reaches the right person on the channel they prefer.

How we use Bird

Omnichannel Messaging

Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Apple Messages and voice run from one place, so a customer gets one joined-up conversation rather than five separate ones.

An agent on every channel

Our agentic system works through Bird’s API and MCP server, reading delivery and reply data across email, SMS, WhatsApp and voice to spot what is landing, what is failing and which channel each customer responds to.

Our team reviews what the agents find and decides what to change, from a template to the order in which channels are used.

You
How did last week’s WhatsApp reminders perform?
Reminders reached almost every customer who had opted in, and replies were highest for messages sent the evening before. A small number failed because of out-of-date phone numbers, which I have listed for the team.
You
Should we move more of this off email?
For appointment reminders, yes. Customers act on WhatsApp faster. I would keep receipts and longer content on email and draft the new flow for your approval.

A powerhouse in a Power Station.

Vertical is a small, senior team of strategists, creatives and performance marketers based at Battersea Power Station in London, with clients and colleagues around the world. Strategy, creative and performance come from one team, with AI built into how we plan, make and measure.

The building has stood on the Thames for the best part of a century, and for fifty years it kept London’s lights on. We like the precedent.

Bird questions, answered

What is Bird?

Bird, formerly MessageBird, is a customer communications platform. It sends and manages email, SMS, WhatsApp, Apple Messages for Business and voice from one place, with contacts, audiences, automations, verification and reporting, plus an API and MCP server for developers and AI agents.

Who is Bird a good fit for?

Businesses that talk to customers on more than one channel, or expect to soon. That includes eCommerce brands, marketplaces, subscription businesses, service businesses with bookings, and SaaS products that need verification codes and notifications.

How is Bird different from Klaviyo?

Klaviyo is built around eCommerce marketing, especially email and SMS campaigns and flows. Bird is broader messaging infrastructure, with WhatsApp, voice, verification and its own email and carrier network. Some brands use Bird on its own, others use it alongside Klaviyo, and we will recommend whichever is simplest for you.

Can you set up WhatsApp Business through Bird?

Yes. We connect your WhatsApp Business account, set up your profile, write and submit message templates for approval, and build opt-in so customers choose to hear from you on WhatsApp.

Do you help with deliverability?

Yes. We authenticate your sending domains, set up sender IDs and numbers for SMS and WhatsApp, and monitor delivery, bounces and failures on every channel so problems are caught early.

Can Bird connect to our store and website?

Usually, yes. Bird has an API and SDKs, so it can connect to Shopify, custom websites and most platforms that can send data. We map which events should trigger which messages and build the integration.

How do we get started?

Tell us which channels you use today, which you would like to add and what you want each message to achieve. We will recommend a setup, build the templates and automations, and make sure everything is authenticated and monitored before it goes live.

Bring us the ambition. We’ll build the system behind it.
